RE: Proposal for Change (PFC) – Use of the word of ‘dwelling’
Thank you for your PFC concerning the use of the word ‘dwelling’ in the description of a Class 1b building.
I am writing to inform you that your PFC was considered by the ABCB’s Building Codes Committee (BCC) at its meeting in March. The outcome in relation to your proposal was a recommendation by the Committee that the proposal not be supported at this stage.
The Board considered the use of apartments in 2012 and considered the most appropriate action was to allow the Holiday Rental Code of Conduct time to have an impact, and undertake an evaluation of progress in 2015. We are currently evaluating the impact of the Holiday Rental Code of Conduct and would welcome any comment you may have on its effectiveness (by COB 30 May 2015).
