We have written about the Inquiry of ACCC into Northern Australia Insurance and their call for submissions here.  The original deadline was 21 December 2017.

 

Nevertheless, the UOAQ has received correspondence from ACCC’s Northern Australia Insurance Inquiry Team advising us of extended deadline for submissions as follows:

“ACCC’S NORTHERN AUSTRALIA INSURANCE INQUIRY:

SUBMISSIONS NOW WELCOME UP UNTIL FRIDAY 19 JANUARY 2018

In late October, we wrote to tell you about the release of an issues paper for our inquiry into residential, strata and contents insurance in northern Australia. We asked to receive submissions to the issues paper by 21 December 2017.

Thank you to the many individuals, organisations and businesses who have already shared their views and experiences with us – your participation is so important to our inquiry.

We have received a number of requests this week from people wanting to submit comments in the new year. We are now accepting submissions up until Friday 19 January 2018.

The issues paper, and the short version for consumers, is available on our website: www.accc.gov.au/insurance

The online questionnaire for consumers will also remain open until Friday 19 January. It is available at www.accc.gov.au/consultation.
